Each year, Glashütte Original revisits its iconic Sixties collection through a time-limited annual edition. For 2026, the German manufacture presents a particularly bold interpretation of its retro chronograph, featuring a sumptuous violet dial inspired by the musical effervescence of the 1960s.
Available exclusively throughout 2026, the new Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition captivates at first glance with its subtle and luminous colour palette. Its domed dial, entirely handcrafted, is coated with a translucent violet lacquer applied over a textured surface, then enhanced by a yellow gold galvanic treatment.
The result is a remarkable visual depth, with reflections that evolve depending on the angle of the light. This creation perpetuates the spirit of the Sixties collection by combining vintage elegance with contemporary expertise. The golden accents evoke the first rays of sunlight, while the dial's texture, inspired by original 1960s embossing techniques, further reinforces its authentic character.
Exceptional craftsmanship driven by an in-house movement
Beyond its singular aesthetic, the Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition 2026 reflects Glashütte Original's artisanal expertise. The indexes, a distinctive feature of this edition, are neither applied nor printed. They are meticulously hand-cut into the surface of the dial, revealing the warm and shimmering nuances of the bronze base material beneath.
Inside the case beats the manufacture automatic calibre 39-34. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, this movement showcases the traditional finishes of fine Saxon watchmaking. The three-quarter plate decorated with Glashütte stripes, the swan-neck regulator, beveled edges, and polished screws all illustrate the care devoted to every detail. The watch is completed by a finely woven synthetic strap designed to provide both comfort and elegance for everyday wear.
The new Sixties Chronograph Annual Edition will be available from May 2026 in Glashütte Original boutiques as well as in our Dubail boutiques.
